The Challenges
My sister and I both share the same passion—writing and earning money. So, we decided to make a blogging website that will generate us a stable income stream from Google AdSense.
In pursuit of our goals, we encountered THREE challenges:
- Building a website capable of sustaining heavy-loading scripts from Google Ads. A website that does not crash or get messed up when ads appear.
- Building a good SEO foundation inside the website’s backend to automate basic SEO tasks.
- Passing the Google AdSense requirements.
And of course, in the long run, we need to write blogs here and there. Not to mention maintaining the site and updating the plug-ins and themes.
What did I do?
In January 2024, I started building the website. For robust site structure and fast loading speed, I used a custom theme to build the site from. I added some plug-ins and tools that will enable the site to run fast and, at the same time, handle heavy scripts for the ads.
Halfway through the month, I’ve finished crafting the site, which is now ready for some blogs. I published some and quickly established some foundations that will automate most of the SEO tasks needed for the blogs.
At the end of January, I applied the site to Google AdSense with only 10 blogs and 4 pages on the site. I was confident that it’d pass, and I was not wrong. Within two weeks, the application was accepted, and we quickly displayed ads on the site. Within a week, we’ve earned $2.52!
